About this piece

Tangled Root Loop Bench, Carved Solid Wood Statement Bench with Looping Branch Backrest, Natural Edge Seat and Flared Root Base, 40 to 83 Inch

A long slab seat with soft natural edges rests on two wide, flared root bases. Along the back, carved branches twist and curl into a row of open loops. It makes a statement in a sunroom, a large living room, a courtyard entry or a covered patio. The branches follow natural forms, so each bench varies slightly.

A closer look

Somewhere to sit and pull on boots

Live-edge shoe benches with a lower shelf, slab-leg benches with a backrest and a carved-log garden bench — each cut from solid natural wood and hand-finished to order.

Live edge solid wood bench in an entryway

Three places it earns its spot

Entryway

Sit, take shoes off and slide them onto the lower shelf.

Hallway

A backrest bench gives a long hall a place to pause.

Garden or porch

The log-frame bench brings the same wood outside — under cover is kindest to it.

Shoe bench, slab legs, backrest or log frame

The live edge is the armrest

The seat keeps the natural edge of the board, with sweeping or flared slab ends cut from the same timber, so the bench reads as one piece of wood.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece — the character of real wood.

Bench basics

Can it go outside?
Keep it under cover — a porch or covered patio — and re-oil each season; solid wood left in rain will grey and move.
Does it need assembly?
Smaller benches arrive ready to use; larger ones may need legs or a backrest bolted on, fixings included.
How do I choose a length?
Allow about 18–20" of seat per person; the size changes the price.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
