About this piece

Petal Fan Back Bench, Carved Solid Wood Porch and Foyer Bench with Wide Petal Backrest, Open Arms and Tapered Legs, 40 to 83 Inch

Broad, petal-shaped panels splay out from the seat into a wide fan with a pointed, scalloped top edge. Slim open arms on posts frame the seat, and long tapered legs keep the stance light. It suits a front porch, a foyer, a garden terrace or a stair hall. Carved and finished by hand to order.

A closer look

Somewhere to sit and pull on boots

Live-edge shoe benches with a lower shelf, slab-leg benches with a backrest and a carved-log garden bench — each cut from solid natural wood and hand-finished to order.

Live edge solid wood bench in an entryway

Three places it earns its spot

Entryway

Sit, take shoes off and slide them onto the lower shelf.

Hallway

A backrest bench gives a long hall a place to pause.

Garden or porch

The log-frame bench brings the same wood outside — under cover is kindest to it.

The live edge is the armrest

The seat keeps the natural edge of the board, with sweeping or flared slab ends cut from the same timber, so the bench reads as one piece of wood.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece — the character of real wood.

Bench basics

Can it go outside?
Keep it under cover — a porch or covered patio — and re-oil each season; solid wood left in rain will grey and move.
Does it need assembly?
Smaller benches arrive ready to use; larger ones may need legs or a backrest bolted on, fixings included.
How do I choose a length?
Allow about 18–20" of seat per person; the size changes the price.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
