About this piece

Lotus Leaf Loveseat Bench, Carved Solid Wood Settee Frame with Veined Leaf Backrest, Rolled Arms and Splayed Tapered Legs, 47 to 71 Inch

The tall, rounded backrest is carved as a lotus leaf, with fine veins radiating from a center point to a scalloped rim. The arms curve forward and down into the seat rail in one line, and the frame stands on four splayed, tapered legs. It suits a sunroom, a bedroom, a reading corner or a covered veranda. Carved and finished by hand to order.

Somewhere to sit and pull on boots

Live edge solid wood bench in an entryway

Three places it earns its spot

Entryway

Sit, take shoes off and slide them onto the lower shelf.

Hallway

A backrest bench gives a long hall a place to pause.

Garden or porch

The log-frame bench brings the same wood outside — under cover is kindest to it.

Shoe bench, slab legs, backrest or log frame

Close-up of a live edge bench seat and slab leg

The live edge is the armrest

The seat keeps the natural edge of the board, with sweeping or flared slab ends cut from the same timber, so the bench reads as one piece of wood.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece — the character of real wood.

Bench basics

Can it go outside?
Keep it under cover — a porch or covered patio — and re-oil each season; solid wood left in rain will grey and move.
Does it need assembly?
Smaller benches arrive ready to use; larger ones may need legs or a backrest bolted on, fixings included.
How do I choose a length?
Allow about 18–20" of seat per person; the size changes the price.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
