About this piece

Live Edge Slab Bed Frame, Solid Wood Floating Platform Bed with Tall Figured Headboard and Bedside Ledges, Queen or King

A solid wood bed with a tall, wide live edge slab for a headboard, showing the full figure of the grain with its knots and natural voids. A ledge at each end of the headboard holds a book or phone. The thick slab platform sits on a set-back base, so the bed appears to float. Finished by hand after you order.

Solid wood tree bed frame with carved branch headboard

The biggest piece of wood in the house

Carved branch headboard, live-edge platform

A headboard of carved branches over a live-edge platform base — a queen or king bed frame cut from solid natural wood and hand-finished to order.

  • Solid natural wood
  • Queen or King
  • Four tones · one price
Close-up of carved branches on a wooden bed headboard

A headboard that grows

The branches are carved and joined by hand from solid timber, so the headboard reads as one tree spreading across the wall rather than panels bolted together.

Every headboard is one of one — branch lines and grain vary.

Bed frame questions

Is a mattress included?
No — the frame only. It takes a standard queen or king mattress laid on the platform base.
How do I care for it?
Dust and wipe with a barely damp cloth; re-oil the headboard now and then to keep the carving rich.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.

Sleep under a tree

Made to order — the grain and branches of your bed belong to one tree only.
