A thick live edge slab platform set on a recessed base, so it seems to hover above the floor. Behind it stands a wide slab headboard with natural voids and a rough top edge. The headboard runs past both sides of the mattress. Cut and finished by hand to order.

A closer look

Natural voids left open in the headboard

The wide headboard slab keeps the openings and dark knots the tree grew with, plus a rough, rising top edge. Nothing is filled or squared off, so light passes through the gaps when it stands against a pale wall.
