Before you order

  1. 01

    Measure the base

Measure your cabinets or island frame, then add the overhang you want. For bar seating, allow roughly 10 to 12 in of overhang for knee room.
  2. 02

    Check the thickness

Each size lists width x depth x thickness. Thicker slabs carry longer overhangs and look heavier; bigger sizes cost more.
  3. 03

    Plan the cut-outs

If you choose a model with a sink or cooktop opening, it comes cut as shown. Check that your sink or cooktop fits that opening before you order.
  4. 04

    Mind the heat

Keep the clearance your cooktop maker asks for between the burners and the wood, and never set hot pans straight on the slab.

Live edges, burls and natural voids

The front edge follows the outline of the tree, and burls, swirls, flame figure and small natural voids run right through the slab rather than sitting on the surface. Straight-edge and butcher block models give a cleaner line.

Grain, knots and edge outline vary piece to piece, the character of real wood.

Countertop questions

Is it just the countertop?
Yes. You receive the solid wood slab only. Cabinets, island base, sink, faucet, cooktop and appliances in our photos are styling only and are not included.
What about the sink or cooktop opening?
Models shown with a sink or cooktop cut-out arrive with that opening cut as pictured. The sink or cooktop itself is not included.
Are waterfall slabs sold as a pair?
No. Waterfall slabs are sold per single panel, so order one for the top and one for each end you want to drop to the floor.
How do I install it?
Set it on a level base and fix it from underneath with screws or brackets, leaving a little room for the wood to move with the seasons. A carpenter or countertop fitter can help with large slabs.
How do I care for it?
Oil or seal the surface before use, wipe spills promptly, use a cutting board and trivets, and re-oil when the wood looks dry. Keep it away from standing water around the sink.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
