Live edge solid wood desk in a home office

Where the work gets done

Floating live-edge slabs or a writing desk with drawers

Wall-mounted live-edge slabs, an L-shaped corner desk and a mid-century writing desk on splayed legs — each is cut from solid natural wood and hand-finished to order.

Why a floating desk works

Floor stays clear

A wall-mounted desk leaves room for a chair to slide in and a vacuum to pass under.

Fits awkward nooks

Bedroom alcoves and corners that no standard desk fits.

A live edge in front of you

The natural edge of the slab faces you all day, not a laminate strip.
Close-up of a live edge desk top

A slab, not a sheet

The worktop is solid timber with its live edge kept, sanded and sealed by hand so it can take a laptop, a lamp and years of elbows.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece — the character of real wood.

Desk questions

How does a floating desk mount?
It mounts into studs or anchors with the brackets supplied; fix into studs for a desk you lean on. The writing desk stands on its own legs.
What height should it be?
Most people work best with the top around 29–30" from the floor; set a floating desk wherever suits your chair.
How do I care for the top?
Wipe with a damp cloth, use a mat under hot drinks and re-oil now and then.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
