About this piece

Waterfall Curl Ribbon Bench, Sculptural Solid Wood End-of-Bed Bench with Rolled Waterfall Leg and Upswept Tail, 47 to 86 Inch

A long, slender top runs flat, then rolls over one end in a smooth waterfall curl that becomes the leg. The other end sweeps up and out into a pointed tail, so the bench reads as a ribbon of wood laid across the floor. It sits well at the foot of a bed or along an entry wall. Shaped and finished by hand to order.

A closer look

Somewhere to sit and pull on boots

Live-edge shoe benches with a lower shelf, slab-leg benches with a backrest and a carved-log garden bench — each cut from solid natural wood and hand-finished to order.

Live edge solid wood bench in an entryway

Three places it earns its spot

Entryway

Sit, take shoes off and slide them onto the lower shelf.

Hallway

A backrest bench gives a long hall a place to pause.

Garden or porch

The log-frame bench brings the same wood outside — under cover is kindest to it.

Shoe bench, slab legs, backrest or log frame

Close-up of a live edge bench seat and slab leg

The live edge is the armrest

The seat keeps the natural edge of the board, with sweeping or flared slab ends cut from the same timber, so the bench reads as one piece of wood.

Grain and knots vary piece to piece — the character of real wood.

Bench basics

Can it go outside?
Keep it under cover — a porch or covered patio — and re-oil each season; solid wood left in rain will grey and move.
Does it need assembly?
Smaller benches arrive ready to use; larger ones may need legs or a backrest bolted on, fixings included.
How do I choose a length?
Allow about 18–20" of seat per person; the size changes the price.
Do the four tones cost the same?
Yes — Black, Brown, Walnut and Oak are one price; only the size changes it.
