A twisting trunk rises out of an L-shaped bench and branches into three tiers of L-shaped shelves that wrap the corner, with small side branches reaching out. Open bays under the bench hold more books. The whole corner becomes a reading nook. Made to order in solid wood, finished by hand and secured to both walls.

Compact corner, three tiers

Antler branches over a corner bench

A twisting trunk grows up out of an L-shaped bench and carries three L-shaped shelves that wrap the corner. Short antler-like branches reach out from the sides between the tiers.

Open bays under the seat

The bench stands on carved root-like supports, leaving open bays below for stacks of books. On top, there is room to perch with a book or set down a basket.

It runs 30 inches along each wall and stands 70 inches tall, with shelves about 16 inches deep.

It is a bench seat as described, and also a wide base shelf for books and baskets.

About 16 inches, enough for large books lying flat.
