A long live edge slab with a softly wavy top forms the headboard. Below it, a chunky slab platform with raw live edges rests on a recessed block base. The thick wood is the point here: heavy edges, open grain and knots. Cut and finished by hand to order.

The platform slab keeps its natural edge on the sides, with ripples and dips you can run a hand along. It overhangs the block base, which hides the support and keeps the floor line clean.
